How Are Replacement Windows Installed?

On your scheduled install day, our professional crew will arrive at your home at exactly the hour you selected, and brief you on what to expect before beginning the project. At that time, you can ask any questions for clarification, then the following will occur:

  1. To prepare the work area, our Installers will place drop cloths around your home to catch any debris that may occur during the project. Once you furniture and floors are protected, they will proceed to remove your old windows*.
  2. Out with the old, in with new. Once the old windows have been carefully removed, the installers will clean the opening thoroughly, prepare the opening properly, and mount the new windows in place.
  3. Insulation and sealing. After the window is in place, the installers will insulate and seal the frame into place. This is very important. The insulation and a proper seal is what willSealing windows keep the cold air and moisture outside, and your heat and cooling inside, saving on energy costs.
  4. The clean-up. After our team has completed your window installation, they are responsible for cleaning up. We will dispose of your old windows and remove any debris. Shortly after the install, one of our site auditors will stop by for a final inspection to make sure your windows properly and answer any additional questions you may have.

*Remember to remove any blinds, curtains or other window treatments prior to our arrival to give the installers full access to your windows. It’s also helpful to move any furniture or items away from doors so the American Made Windows crew can easily move materials in and out.

Completion times for projects will vary depending on number and size of windows. While we aim to complete most installations within a day, unforeseen circumstances like weather can cause unexpected delays. If installers do need more time, our service and scheduling team will with work you to discuss what to expect next.
